Dallas gets bike-friendly

These planned bike trails look like a good idea to me (especially for East Dallas). My favorite quote:

"I'm a Texan and, boy howdy, I love my cars. But I also ride my bike 6,000 miles a year," he said.

...is that guy for real?

6000 miles is a lot but not unreasonable. That's pretty close to my total per year and I imagine would be standard for your average competitive amateur cyclist.

20 miles per day is a lot, but not unreasonable I suppose. The thing that really got me about that guy was the "boy howdy, I love my cars."

Who says "boy howdy" anyway (even in Texas)?

P.S. Wish I was riding 20 mi/day. I also wish there was a scale bar on the map so I could figure out how long the trails are going to be...

Hallelujah! I needed this—you're my savoir.
