This woman belongs in Berkeley
This article says the woman is from Walnut Creek, but I swear I saw her on Telegraph Ave the other day:

Outsiders who imagine the "typical" Berkeley resident probably think of someone who looks a lot like this crazy lady. That image is not far off...
UPDATE: This photo was picked up by Fark.com for a Photoshop contest! Perfect.

Watch yourself. Some day soon those air horns are gonna be all the rage, and you'll regret not being one of the early adopters.

'Struth. Look at her face; she means business that one. She's actually looking for a mountain lion to blast with those things. We have crazy people in MO too, but they have the decency to stay in the Ozarks out of harms way.

At least she looks kind of stylish-ish. The blazer looks great on her - really suits her.
It's the haircut that really let's her down - you don't need air horns to frighten off mountain lions with a haircut like that.
What was she thinking?
By the way... you've got a great name too. I shall add you to my science blog list - if it's ok with you?

I agree-- it's mostly the haircut. But I'd be remiss if I didn't note the empty look in her eyes. Hopefully the Chronicle will do a follow-up and tell us how the tandem air-horns worked out for her.
Thanks for the link! I look forward to reading your site!

"I'd be remiss if I didn't note the empty look in her eyes"
Indeed, her eyes remind me of a Joni Mitchell lyric:
"She comes from the school of southern charm.
She like's to have things her way.
Any man in this world putting out his arm.
Would soon be made to pay."
The song is called 'Shades of Scarlett Conquering'.
Now every time I hear that tune I'll think of Joan Michel-Lehman and her air-horns.
Funny enough, another lyric in the same tune talks about 'her blood-red fingernails' - emm... the plot thickens.
